Osservatorio Astronomico

The observatory is about 4 km. from Imola at an altitude of 250 metres and is managed by the “Associazione Astrofili Imolesi”, who also handled it in its preparatory phases.

 

Inside the fibreglass dome, which measures 4.5 metres, is the Newton-Cassegrain telescope with a main mirror of 410 mm. equipped with a 150 mm. refractor . The telescope, as well as the remaining technical instruments of the centre, enable various public encounters dedicated to observing the moon, planets and other celestial objects, and in summer the projection of scientific films and slides.
