Together with Caduti della Libert\u00e0 square and Gramsci square, which surround it, the Matteotti square has since made up the commercial centre of the town.<\/p>\n<p>Girolamo Riario built the Signoria Palace (today known as Sersanti Palace) on the east side of the square, and it is regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings of the Renaissance in the region.
