Five kilometres from Imola is a small town called Ponticelli where this picturesque town festival occurs.

The town self-finances this feast, which initiated at the beginning of the 20th century. More than 1700 pounds of pasta are served with 900 pounds of meat sauce and an entire Parmesan cheese is grated to satisfy the pallets. To serve this quantity of pasta the kitchens start to work at 4.00am and finally at 11.30am the townspeople are served and at 2.30pm the foreigners too.

Musical shows and exhibitions of the local products are also a part of this feast.
The money earned is given to different charities.
